The budget is naturally one of the first things to determine when preparing for the big day. This usually means that you have to decide fairly early on, where you’re willing to spend the most money, and where you are willing to DIY like you are on ArtAttack.
Every couple will have different priorities but quality photography is paramount. You may notĀ agree, but you are wrong.
Okay, that was rude.
But just for now, we’re going to argue on Team Photography and will explore why it is important to put loads of time into scoring the perfect photographer for your day.
Why Hire a Wedding Photographer
So much time, effort, and money goes into planning the wedding. When you are in the throws of it all, it sometimes feel as though the wedding is going to last for weeks! But ultimately you have one day. And whilst of course, you are coming away with a spouse (big deal), and the presents (YAS), and the memories (#cute), in terms of tangible and lasting things, there really isn’t very much that comes away with you.
Enter gorgeous wedding photos:
Having pictures that you love, that represent you as a couple, and that capture every possible moment of your big day is one of the greatest things to come from the wedding day.
Working with a Budget
Having great wedding photos that you love DOES NOT mean that you have to spend more money than you can afford. There are hundreds of photographers out there to fit every budget! Once you have realised this, you have the freedom to explore your options and focus on a style that you like.
Fun and quirky? Traditional and romantic? Think of words that describe you and your love and we’re 90% sure that you’ll be able to find a photography style that matches.
The base idea is that you have to do your homework! Check out Instagram accounts, ask friends for their recommendations, and look on Pinterest; really find something that you find aesthetically pleasing. Then, try and find photographers that suit you.
Ask Questions
There is so much to consider when choosing a wedding photographer, but just take it one question at a time:
- Has the photographer taken pictures in a venue like yours?
- Does the photographer have experience taking pictures of certain skin tones? (Lighting can be really tricky!)
- Will they be available to take photos of you getting ready as well as pictures of you dancing away into the night?
LOADS to consider. But don’t worry, we’ll be here to help you through all of these questions and more.
This post was just designed to get those cog wheels turning!
You will never regret putting time and effort into making the photography a priority in your wedding planning.
